Both of my kids enjoyed the book, but my daughter was absolutely mesmerized by it. I even caught her playing on the curb, talking to herself and pretending to be the main character. The book, by gold-medal-winning Olympic gymnast and bestselling author Laurie Hernandez, tells the story of how she discovered her passion for gymnastics and overcame challenges. It shows that hard work and perseverance can take you far, and what I love about the book is how it includes her whole family, dad, mom, brother and sister, in the journey. And also it teaches that failure is an important part of learning and growth.
